“Pad Thai” is a Thai food with noodles as the main ingredient. It was widely known during World War II.

The government at that time campaigned for people to turn to eating noodles. To reduce rice consumption. Because at that time the country’s economic situation was depressing. Rice is expensive.

Pad Thai is influenced by Chinese cuisine. from the nationalist trend that sees noodles as the food of the Chinese people. Therefore, the menu made from noodles has been improved to become a Thai food style.

Until Pad Thai has become a famous and delicious food of Thai people.

 

Pad Thai, originally Thai people called this food. “Fried Noodles” Pad Thai in the early days used “Chan Noodles” for stir-frying.

“Chan Noodles” is a famous line and originated from Chanthaburi Province. The lines are unique and made from rice flour That is the right size, easy to chew, sticky, good fit.

It’s not crumbly like other thin noodles, so it’s popular for making Pad Thai.

Pad Thai in those days would not have pork. Because Thai people think that it will make it too similar to Chinese food. So turned to using dried shrimp instead of pork to make it more uniquely Thai.

 

They also put Yellow tofu, lime, garlic leaves, cabbage, and bean sprouts which is a raw material that can be easily found in Thailand and has been changed into new flavors to follow more Thai food. Later changed the name from “Fried Noodles” is “Pad Thai Noodles” after the new name of Thailand.  And is popularly called for short today, leaving only the word “Pad Thai”.

“Pad Thai” is a food that provides high energy. This is because the main ingredients are fried rice flour with oil, protein from hard tofu, dried shrimp, peanuts, and bean sprouts, dietary fiber from chives, and radishes, which are high in calcium and phosphorus. which helps maintain bones and teeth.

The nutritional value of herbs contained in “Pad Thai” such as
– Chinese chives cure constipation, help reduce cholesterol levels in the blood, reduce blood pressure, and prevent cancer.
– Onions relieve cold symptoms and suffocation.
– Garlic helps reduce blood cholesterol levels, cancer, and inflammation, and treat fungal skin diseases.
– Tamarind juice helps purify the blood and is a mild laxative.

 

Menu “Pad Thai” consists of the main ingredients generally are dried vermicelli, bean sprouts, fresh shrimp, dried shrimp, hard tofu, chives leaves, salted turnip, coarsely roasted peanuts, chicken eggs, finely chopped shallots, vegetable oil, lemon, chives, chives, seasoned broth, palm sugar, fish sauce, sugar, tamarind juice, and chili powder.

      Ingredients:
– 1. small pack of flat rice noodles. Soak in warm water until the noodles are soft first
– 1 Tofu (make crispy tofu)
– 3 Tablespoons of oil
– 1 onion, minced
– 1 cup of fresh bean sprouts
– 3 spring onions chopped or garlic leek
– Ground peanuts
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
– 1 tablespoon brown sugar
– 1 egg (vegan: without eggs)

 

      How to cook:

1. Chopping vegetables and ingredients Prepared to blanch the noodles when cooked (finished noodles) or noodles that are soaked in water until soft. You can choose to buy as you like.

2. Mix palm sugar, tamarind juice, and plain water. Until it becomes a sauce for Pad Thai.

 

 

3. Heat a pan and put a little olive oil in it. Wait until the oil is hot, then add sliced onions and tofu and stir-fry until cooked. Then pour the sauce for the seasoned Pad Thai into it. Simmer until the sauce is slightly thick, then add the pad Thai noodles. mix well.

4. Stir for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Then add ground peanuts, garlic leaves and bean sprouts, mix again and continue to stir until the bean sprouts and garlic leaves are cooked. Remove from the heat and place on a plate. Place the lemon, cayenne, and roasted peanuts on the side of the plate and it’s ready to serve.
